Recently in Parliament both parties have proposed to stop Asylum Seekers into this country. There have been ridiculous claims like "why can't they just get on a plane". We have all seen the carnage of where these people come from, yet why don't we all agree on letting them in or not? We have signed the UN refugee convention and therefore are responsible for taking in these people. But still people like Tony Abbot seem to think turning boats back to where they came from is a good idea. The latest legislative Plan includes sending back all Asylum seekers from Sri Lanka who arrive in this country after a certain date, due to there country being "safe" again. Even though thousands of people are kidnapped by separatist forces every day.
It is proposed that we should have a more lenient and humane Aslyum Seeker Policy, while still upholding national security
