There has been a long running debate about whether or not Institutions such as the Government should be able to access social networking pages of people.
Facebook has been a tool for people to communicate with friends both privately and publicly. Twitter is used by people to tell people what they are doing. Many other social networking sites such as MySpace, LinkedIn and Yahoo have similar uses.
But what happens when this information falls into the hands of the Government?
Governments may use this to:
- locate where someone is.
- monitor age.
- monitor illegal activity.
- monitor inappropriate actions.
- change the use of the site.
- bully.
- manipulate people.
- exploit privacy.
- prevent crimes.
It is proposed that the Government should be able to access people's social networking sites.
