Poverty - is it our responsibility?
All over the word, people are starving, living in horrible conditions, earning less than a dollar a day.
While we sit in large, warm houses, in nice clothes, on our comfy chairs, wasting time on our snazzy computers. We casually lean over to grab some chocolate, and wonder what's for dinner. Hopefully not risotto, we hate risotto. We won't eat our dinner if its risotto. We always hear that other people would be so happy to eat our risotto, and that starving children eat only a handful of rice a day, but we hear it so often! We don't really care, anymore! I mean, really, what does it have to do with us, anyway?
Do you ever think about people living in absolute poverty when you go on a shopping spree or refuse to eat perfectly good food, etc?
Do you ever feel guilty about this consumerist society we live in?
Do you think you should have to feel guilty?
Do you think poverty is your responsibility?
