Should Twitter be allowed at school?

Should the micro-blogging network Twitter be allowed at School (already is but consequences apply if caught) due to its wealth in information, links and professional views and the easy ability to access topics via hashtags. I often tweet on my twitter (www.twitter.com/cjrholman) and follow man history and science professors and gurus, their up to date information and views keep me at the forefront of the issues I'm concerned about.
