Stem Cells are the first cells from the embryo's of unborn babies. They can grow into other cells which can be used for medical cures.
Initial research has been very successful, and it is predicted that it can cure many diseases such as cancer and Parkinsons Disease. This could present huge benefits for people suffering disease such as these.
However, there is the ethical issue of robbing the life of the unborn baby, based on if the stem cell is considered to be living or non-living. There are many arguments for both sides, and the concensus will decide if it is therefore moral to use stem cells for medical and scientific purposes.
